There is this hill people practice on. It's not real long but is very steep, and has two overhangs at about about half and three-quarters of the way up. On a 2-WD you have to carry a lot of momentum or you will lose it. When you hit the first overhang, you have to lean forward or you'll wheelie. Then (while you're still leaning forward), your rear tires hit the overhang and the back end bucks up like a bronco. The wheels spin wildly in the air, then the back lands and you finally get traction again. Suddenly, you're at the second overhang, and you have to do it all over again, but by now you've lost momentum, and it can get really interesting! My nephew got sidways and rolled it bad the other day.

Anyway, I'm out putting around on the Rancher, and there are these two kids on old 3-wheelers, so I decide to give them a show. I ride up the thing on my Rancher-BACKWARDS!

 

Yeah i know what you mean. Not too long ago me and some friends were out riding on some badly rutted hills. Anyway to get to the point I ended up towing my friends ATC 250R up the hill--also backwards. I think if I would have tried it going forwards I would have popped a wheelie and lost it.

 

I HAVE A 98 300 4X4 AND I THINK THEY CLIMB JUST AS GOOD BACKWARDS AS THEY DO FORWARDS.
