quad riders who used to kick start above 10 times to fire it up-- what did you do to make make it start in 1 or 2 kicks?

i changed my plug and nothing
a friend checked the compression and it was fine
the working option right now is to kick it something like 17/20/23 times to fire it up.

try cleaning your carb..might have some dirt or oil sump in it...also change your fuel filter too.

what altitude do you ride at? maybe your air/fuel setting? maybe your pilot jet? welcome to jetting

It might be lean. Does it start different when it is hot to cold? Does it start easier or harder cold? Try both choke on and off. Secondly there is always full starting it behind the truck . It also might have a weak spark. A weak spark condition is really hard to pinpoint becaseu you will still see an arc when you do a plug/spark test.

the most important thing is that the fuel is fresh, that you are getting a strong spark, that your filter is clean, that your bike is jetted correctly, that you do not push the throttle flooding the carb with fuel, and also that you get the kick motion down.

i was having the same problem with my old lt and finally bought a carb kit, i cleaned all parts in carb cleaner and acid, replaced all seals, gaskets, jets, needle, pilot, and the floats where getting stuck, all it needed was a clean up and a tune up, but i got tired of it and decided it was time for a raptor, nothing beats electric starter
