I know that there is a link between the number on the frame and the year the machine was built. A letter means a year, but I can't remember what letter->year.
Does someone here know?
I'm asking that because one guy told me that my shee's colors weren't available in 98...and I bought it like a 98 model. It's just for curiousity because I didn't buy it expensive (I can say it was a deal). There's no revenge after the guy that sold it to me or whatever

I think it is the 10th letter or number in the VIN number. Go to blaster central at http://www.blastercentral.com/NoFram...our_Year.shtml and when you have to sign in type User Nam : Guest

The 10th letter on the vin is a letter. That letter tells you what year any motorcycle or quad the year. The letters start with 1980 or 1981. I don't have the book in from of me now, it is at the shop. I think it is 80-A, 81-B, 82-c, and so on.

I found it.
Thanks to everyone.
Actually, I only have B and Ws on my serial #, so no doubt it's a 98.
For the curious ones.
Y->00
X->99
W->98
