Eton Viper 90 automatic choke?
#1
My sons 2003 Eton Viper 90 is very hard to start after sitting for a few days. If I don't start it every day, it is almost impossible to start. The starter can't last much longer. I have not seen a manual choke on it so I assume it has an automatic choke but not sure. It has been this way since new. I don't know if the choke is not working or if it is just the way these are designed. I even have problems with it during the summer months if it sits for a week or so. Any comments or suggestions please?

No, I'm not giving it gas when trying to start it. I have even tried running the carb. out of gas when parking it by turning off the fuel valve (at the recommendation of the dealer) and this doesn't help either. I'm beginning to think that the choke doesn't work at all, and never has since new.

Had the same problem with mine. Was never sure if it was the electric choke or oil syphoning through and clogging things up when stored. Replaced the carb with a Keihin 20mm (premix) and all my problems went away. It now starts a lot easier than my 400ex. Best mod I've made.

Thanks. I might check into another carb. if I can find a dealer around here anywhere. Even after I finally get the ATV started and running, it will idle good but it doesn't have much power at all until is has been running for 20-30 minutes. I would also like to know which wire to clip to do away with the throttle limiter if anyone knows.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
