I will be buying a 2X4 250 Recon or Bruin (because of price) Saturday and need to know which one is better in power, handling, and upkeep.

I use to have a Recon, and it is an excellent machine. My friend has a Bruin, and of the two I prefer the Recon.

 

Speedy,I have a 2005 recon and love it.Only problem is it is cold blooded but once it warms up,no problems.I looked at the bruin and chose the recon because it is a little bigger and just felt more solid to me.Either way you go,you still have a great ride.

 

Isn't the Bruin a 350 and the Recon a 250?? Or are you referrring to the made over 250 Beartracker? The Recon is faster then the 250 Yamaha.

 

...there are two bruins... a bruin 350 4x4.... and a bruin 250 2x4.. the same engine and everything as the beartracker 250... just "grizzly" like plastics..

i would much rather the honda.. i feel that the yamahas feel like they aret sturdy built.. and my friends recon es is great.. and my other friends beartracker 250.. is just not good.. i dont like the response of the throttle.. it feels really slow.. waht ever you want buddy

 

I thank you all SOOooooo Much for your help. At the last minuet I got a really good deal on a new Kawasaki Bayou that I couldn't pass up. So tomorrow I will be getting a new 250 Bayou instead.
