Default Clutch Springs

I knoiw this has probably been answered many times but can anyone tell me what the different color springs do for your bike clutch wise and how hard it is to install yourself and prices of the springs and if there is a good primary and secondary setup to get the most out of my bike which is the 05 trailboss.

I have done alot of testing on springs for the 330. I have tried about 7-8 different springs. The ones that I thought worked best are the EPI pink, red or maroon. I was using the pink with the stock pipe but I am now using the red with an FMF silencer and RCR pipe. The pink spring will give right off idle take off with good midrange and better top end. This is a good all around spring. More agressive mid and top than stock. The maroon has a slightly higher take off rpm"s with good midrange and higher top end rpm's. This has stronger take off then stock and the pink but for the stock 330 the higher rpm's on top may be too much. It will tend to slip more going uphills and wont pull as hard. The epi red has strong take off great midrange like the others and good top end. Almost like the pink but with more agressive take off. I like the red and the take off is not that bad for trail riding or rocks. You can go to erlandson performance .com to look at spring rates. The higher the numbers on the springs the more agressive they are but you dont want to go too high or it will kill performance. I would recommend the Pink for the stock 330 and the red for a piped one. The red would be ok for stock also but pulls harder with the silencer. They cost about $20 each and takes about 30min to install. Get yourself a drop in K&N.

The stock speed on the 330 is about 42-45mph. With the setup I have now on a straight it will do 55mph. Just as fast as the stock 400sp.

Like 2many said the EPI pink is a good spring for low engagment and more topend.I run that in my wifes 330 and she likes it .The EPI red or Polaris white (which are equal to each other) give you a little less topend than the pink but take off faster .Try a primary spring change first then get into the secondary.I run Aaens blue secondary to get the top rpms down and have better backshifting But I dialed mine in with a tach to wher I wanted it.If you dont have a tach just try the primary and see how it feels.

You ought to try the FMF silencer and RCR pipe on the 330. Helps out alot on low to mid range. Gained about 2mph on top also. There are some hills that I climb and it would struggle going up prior to exhaust. Now it climbs up them with no problem. Definite difference in power.

Got to keep this one quiet so I can ride in the bottoms at night and not bother anyone.
