I owned an '86 till I sold it in '90. They are great little quads. Very light and agile. They do have a few mechanical weaknesses, but there are still quite a few out there still kicking. The chain adjuster needs to be kept lubed and clean, as they are susceptible to junk getting in there and freezing it up. The main bearing gets oil starved and will seze if ran at excessively high rpm for to long. Make sure she is shifting into the upper gears and not just revving out 1st and 2nd. Many of the ones I have seen in the last few years seem to have either just had a new top end or is in need of one. Then again, many of these things are 20 years old also. Have fun with it, the light weight and small size lends itself to newer riders.

Yeah, the kicker is, um, unique. That was actually my biggest complaint with the quad. Those little 230's can be a real bugger sometimes, and the kickstart lever doesn't help at all. On the plus side, it is a great incentive for a beginner to nail those launches. I just saw you have an '86 Qracer, so you probably know all about the rear end on the sport as well since it is the same design.

and i saw in another post you run 13 or 14 and 39 sprockets how much does your speed increase from that

Last we figured I was up around $1200-$1500. About the speed I can't honestly answer how much speed I gained because I didn't ever install the factory sprockets. But I can tell you this, by only changing out the sprockets and adding exhaust and putting on smaller rear tires and wheels I can hang with our piped 300EX, slide out and pass anytime with ease.
