Default z400 clutch plate specs needed

I'm replacing my clutch on my 03 z400. I just opened the new TUSK brand clutches and measured the stack up on the old and new sets. The new tusk brand measures .028 in. smaller than the worn stock unit. Its all in the spacer plates, they are .004 in. smaller than the stock plates each. The fibers are the same size old and new. This seems just a little backwards, I know there is a lower limit on the clutch stack up height, but I don't have a Suzuki manual.
If anyone has this info, i'd appreciate it. I don't want to put it back together just to have to pull it right back apart because it slips.
