Default 2005 Honda 400ex Electrical Problem help :D

I apoligized in advance for the stupid question...

I moved the ingnition switch and neutral/reverse lights so I could install new handle bars. I ended up cutting the ingition wires and spliced them back together. Now nothing is working, did I mess something up badly when I cut the ignition wires?

Thanks

JG

You didn't put a switch of any kind back in?
The 400ex has a battery so you need a switch of some kind.
Also I don't believ it is as easy as splicing the wires together. Makes a difference whether the key switch opens or closes a ciruit when you turn it on.

if you just cut the wires, you probably blew the fuse too

yes I put the ingition key switch back in, I just moved it to a different location, I'll check the fuses next and see if they are in good condition.

Why would you go cutting wires on a new quad for a set of handlebars? LOL

well I didnt like the look of the stock handle bars and I had purchased Tag T2 handle bars. The Ignition key switch, reverse light, and neutral light all had to be moved berfore installing them. Everything worked well, besides the fact that I blew the fuse.

schwinn, remember, 90% of the time you can trace the wires from your ignition switch and simply unplug them rather than cutting wires. when you are doing mods, spend a little time and save yourself a lot of time. glad I could help you out.
