Default NEED HELP! on 400ex i purchased

i got a 2004 trx 400 ex and when i get about into third geer and accelarte it will start to shake back and forth teh fatser you go the worse it is. The 4 wheeler was used for racing before i bought it so it has extended a arms +1 on each side and has works suspension so it sits low and all the bolts and everything are tight ; i was thinking maybe becuase it is so wide in teh front and becuase its probably made for racing but please give me your input i need your help and if you know what my problem is then what can i do to fix it

and also it might be from the extended steering stem

A wheel out of balance, or a bent rim????

well it goes straight it you just let go of the wheel and when i do wheeles it goes straight

Just swap out the wheelset with another quad, and see if your problem goes away..........

I had a bent rim on my Z, and the thing would shake like crazy, but only at high speed.

Neither your a-arms themselves nor the steering stem should be causing what you describe. You could have a bent rim like recon ranger stated. It could be time for new wheel bearings too. I have heard that sometimes if you run tire slime or a similar product, it COULD cause the wheel to be out of balance. That would also account for your problem. In any case, I would fix it before something fails on you. Not pretty if it is a bearing problem when it fails completely[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img]

thana for all teh help it was that one of my front rims were bent

if your axle bearings or your swingarm bearings are worn out then it can cause the rear to sway under acceleration or the same with front bearings though acceleration doesnt have as much of a impact on the front.
