Default sportsman 500 HO help

I have a 2000 polsris sportsman 500 HO that has not been run for a couple months, I recently got it out and now the speedometer, odometer, and 4wd do not work. I can not figure out what could have happened to make this happen. I asked to dealer in our area, and they told me to check a couple of fuses, so i didm, but they were fine. Another dealer told me to replace the speedometer and that SHOULD take care of the problem. I don't want to spend $350 on a new speedometer and that not fix the problem. Is there anyone out there that has had this problem or has an idea what else could have caused this? Any help would be appriciated.

If it sat for a while, check the wires to make sure a mouse did not chew one off. I would bet there is a broken wire some where. A good maintence manual will have wiring diagrams in it to guide you to the problem.

how's the battery, fully charged? AWD is controled by the speedo, but if you ain't got a good battery, that can cause it to act up.
