Fellow Scram/Sport owners:

When you push down on the grab bar on your Sports/Scrams...can you almost bottom out the suspension? How far down does it go?

Mine seems weak...just curious!

Hey Xplor~
I have noticed that also. I thought mine did that because it is almost 5 years old and the shock has never been serviced. It does seem to compress a lot when dead weight is added, but I don't remember it ever bottoming severely off a jump. The front suspension is another story, but the rear seems to work quite well. When I push down on the grab bar, I can not get it to bottom I'm 170 lbs), but it does compress quite a bit!

Sounds just like mine. Must be normal.

Tomorrow I go and test my rear triple rate spring set-up! Either it's gonna rock or it's gonna suck!

Stay tuned...

Just went out and checked mine and it does the same thing. I feel like I can almost bottom it out (240 lbs) but I am sure that I can not. I have bottomed out the rear on a jump (about 4 ft. ledge to flat area over a creek (what was I thinking)). I also noticed that when I pushed down and released that it did not come all the way back up. I could lift up and it would raise a good inch. I assume that I can adjust the ring and take care of that.

Mine does the same Kevin. Feels like it gets stuck two inches too short!I can pull it back up the extra two inches but the weight of the frame/seat just pushes it down again.

Must be normal...I just figured it seemed weak but when hitting hard fast bumps, it must do it's thing.

my 99 did that also... then i tightened the spring just over half way from the bottom and now when i get off it comes back up all the way. it also doesnt squat as much when i do get on. it made a big difference!!

my scrambler has a fox racing shock but i dont think yours does. although you still might be able to adjust it. if it is adjustable there will be a plastic type "nut" on the bottom of the single shock spring. in my tool kit i got a spanner wrench that let my adjust the shock. i suspended my quad with a jack and turned the nut up on the threads just over half way. if the bottom of the shock (where the spring sits) is threaded it is adjustable. you might even be able to turn the spring by hand (spring is connected to plastic "nut") if not a wrench is available for less that 10$. hope this helps
