Checked mine I have about 2 inch rider sag sitting on it but pushing down on the grab bar I can get much more. The pre-load nut is about half way up. It will bottom on the big jumps but feels good overall for me at 180 lbs. HTH

My brother's T-Blazer adjusts just like my T-Boss. You have a ring around the bottom of the shock with 5 notches. Use spanner to turn for tighter or looser. My machine sagged 3 or 4 inches until I adjusted it to the middle notch. Now I have very little sag but still nice and soft ride.

first off the stock shocks (FOX with remote resevoirs and the ones with out)on our quads are not ,FOX racing shocks,they are Fox but they are a bargin bin cheap shock,and yes they all suffer from a lack of rebound .About all you can do is adjust up the spring,you dont want it to go all the way up you shoud set it so when you pick up the rear grab bar the have about 3/4 to 1" of play. the more you adjust the rebound the tighter the compression gets as well.Thats the difference between a racing shock and a cheaper look a like race shocks are fully adjustable.The peoples that still have warrentys bring them back and they will/should recharge or replace the shock,Of coarse they are going to say they are suposed to work that way! ya right.

I can make mine near bottoming out by pushing on the grab bar, but I've never had any problems with the shock being to plush for hard trail riding or jumping.
Must be the way it's designed.

I have a 99 scram 400. I had lots of problems bottoming out .Im 6-2 and weight 285. wayyy to much for stock shocks. they are only rated for a 185 lbs rider. I kept landing so hard I would bend the bottom bolt holding shock also broke plastic threds on rebound ajuster. So I took it to goodwin performance. they rebilt and revalved for my weight. I also put a heavy spring from aaen on back. I had time on sat. to go for a ride at a friends. he built a some jumps any where from 2ft to 5 ft. I had no problems landing with comfort. also not rough on trails. so for $75.00 I can jump and not bottomout. I just leave the adjuster nut to the lowest setting and it worked exelent. just my two cents worth

i figured the stock fox shock was cheap one.. but it is still better than most found on a lot of other quads! so far i am happy with it but it doesnt compare to my motocross bikes! oh well i will beat my scrambler then i will get something different!

I fell like I can almost bottom out my rear Fox Shock when I stand on the rear grab bar also and I only weigh 140 lbs. I have it as tight as it can go so that it wont bottom out "as much" when I am going off of ramps.

Stand your sc on the grab bar with all 4 wheels against the garage wall. Now back off aways and start running straight towards the seat, accelerate to 60mph and jump. I think that be a better test of compresion, I believe the shock is soft at slow speeds and stiffer as the hits get harder. I know riding the main trail at Baldwin(40miles of mean whoops) the sc500 handles the whoops much better at higher speeds the slow.

It's just a matter of speed. When you push down on your grab bar, the oil has time to move (and BTW does not offer you much resistance). Think about it...that's good. When you're riding slowly, you don't want your shock to be as hard as if you were riding 60mph+.

does, I can almost bottom my shee also...and I'm 150lbs. And it does work very well in jumps and bumps.
