I changed the fluid and the manual says to keep fluid level to bottom of fill plug (about 5 ounced of new fluid) Mine took about 8 ounces. Anyone else?

Spoke to the Polaris service guy about this a couple of weeks ago. It's the same for the front. Says 5oz yet also says to the bottom of the fill plug which takes 8oz. He said go to the bottom of the fill plug in both front and rear. Oddly enough the front fluid (which is different than the rear) comes in an 8oz bottle and the whole bottle will take it right to the bottom of the fill plug.

The front says 3/4 from the bottom of the fill plug. I put about 6 ounces and it's 1/2 in from the plug. Should I go to the bottom?

i think it should be to the bottom for added extra protection.

Not sure what year your 700 is but my 04 service manual and owners manual say to the bottom edge of the fill plug. They also say 5oz. which will not make it to the bottom of the plug so read that for what it's worth. I would think that measuring 1/2 or 3/4 inch below the fill plug would be a PITA. I go to the bottom of the fill plug.
