Default What do U use in the tranny of your blaster?

There is only 1 place, other than the gas/oil mix res, to put oil right? I get conflicting info on what oil to use in the tranny. Some say Gear type oils like Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90, and others, including the manual say 10w-40, like in the tranny of other 4stroke tranny's that have wet clutches(make me think there's more than 1 place to put oil because they are so different). I don't have the Owners Manual, how often does it say to change the oil? Is there a PDF of the Owners manual somewhere(PM mw about that one, not sure if it's allowed).

Thanks,
--Rick

In the transmission you can use engine oil for four strokes or the gear oil, it's a matter of personnel preference. The only other oil used in a two stroke engine is the two cycle oil which you either pre -mix with gas or use the auto injection that came from the factory. I know it is kind of confusing. I was trying to change the engine oil in my first two stroke two.

While the manual may say to use engine oil, I have found that the 2 stroke gear oils work better. I don't have much Blaster experience, but I saw a big difference in shifting after I switched to 80w Bel-Ray Gearsaver in a Banshee. I didn't get much difference when I switched my old Quadracer over to the same stuff, but that was always a better shifting tranny to begin with. Bottom line, I believe the gear oils are better suited for that application. They seem to help ease shifting to some extent, and I wouldn't run anything else in a 2 stroke tranny.
