Has anyone had a problem with grease leaking out of the c.v. boot where the metal clamp is? I have a 2000 a.c.300 there is grease leaking on the right front axle where the boot is clamped on the large diameter side of the axle. there are no cuts on the boot. I went to the dealer and was told you can't buy just the clamp, have to buy a complete boot kit. Also wondering how you replace the lost grease, is there a grease fitting on the c.v. joint? or do you just pack grease inside the boot.
thanks for any help

I wouldn't worry about a little grease, mine has done this on occasion when the boot gets wrapped up in marsh grass or weeds, but it's a small amount of grease & the boot is still full.
