Default KFX 700 belt problems??

I was looking at buying an KFX700 and wanted to know how the belt tranny held up. I know a few people that have Brute Forces with big mudders that have had some belt slippage/breakage troubles.

I love the sound they make to like a jet when they are running down the road sweet bike the KFX and 700 Raptor are about the same and I have the Yamaha but I still love the KFX tons of power to

I bought my KFX at the end of 03 and have never had a problem with the tranny or belts. I change the belt once a year for cheap insurance and always carry a spare just in case something happens. My KFX is running way more power through the belt now than before, but everythings holding up very well.

I've been riding 2 years with the same original belt on my 700 and still no sign of failure. Belt life mainly depends on how you ride/abuse it. Giving gas like there is no tomorrow when your quad got stuck is the fastest way to shorten the life of your belt.

Yep, I have an 04, and I'm still on the original belt. In fact, I have had no problems at all with this quad.

I am looking at an 06 KFX700 and just wondered if any one has heard any bad about them; belts, plastic, oil pumps, etc. I have heard nothing but goo about these quads and I am still stuck on the 88' 250r's. Is this KFX a good move? thanks

I have a LE 2005 KFX700 done up big. I have let my friends ride it and they were very impressed with the power of the automatic trans. We do hill climbs in P.A. A few time a year. Let me say no lack of power and always in the right gear.
