Belt wet 800xt

How deep a waterhole did you go through? Did the water get in the intake snorkle for the belt housing? Did you check to see if the housing was sealed. A few have been shown to warp with high heat. There is also the slight possibilty that the water can get by the seal on the back side of the housing. You say that holes were worn in it. In what? If the holes are worn in the housing, someone was resting there feet on it when they shouldn't have.

the intake duct for the belt cover is located in the top of the left inner fender. if the plastic moves or distorts it will suck a little water. how on earth could you wear holes in the clutch?
