Default Ready for the snow!!!

Okay I am ready for this winter here in Michigan. We almost got that big storm that hit Chicago but it just missed us to the West, so we didn't get any snow just rain..yeah I was mad b/c I bought chains for my King Quad 700 and I already have a 48" cycle country plow, I wanted to try the chains out. Oh well... we average 45 inches a year so it'll snow eventually. But has anyone on here gotten a big snow yet and did you plow it with your Ute??

i jsut bought a plow from by neighboor, just waiting on the mounting kit that i ordered.....it suppossed to flurry over night besides the fact it was 70 degrees the other day LOL! im dying for my first winter with my atv.....its only 2 wheel drive but it'll get through a lot....

you really need tire chains even though you have 4 wheel drive?

In my situation yes I need them b/c my driveway is 250ft long and it has a steep incline up and the snow blows over it constantly causing 2ft drifts with only like a 6 inch snowfall. The stock tires on my ATV don't get much traction, even in 4wd I've had some trouble getting up it let alone plowing up it, most likely b/c it gets icy. But as long as your plowing on a level surface you should be okay...My situation is just out of the ordinary.

I have a chance to get a Glacier plow kit (used) for 370.00 CAN no tax from the dealer here. I have a snowblower but am still thinking about plowing with the Sportsman 450. Should i get it ....or not........
I had the little one out today pulling her around the yard on the G.T.sno-racer....We both had fun............caper................

caperinmuskoka, definitely go for the Glacier plow you can put the snow where you want it on a plow and most likely get it done faster over a blower...I had a 400 Sportsman and it plowed very well, it's a lot of fun b/c it's incredible how much snow you can move with an ATV, the Polaris sportsman's are very good at plowing b/c their so heavy.

My old Sportsman 400 was better at plowing than my newer Suzuki King Quad 700 in stock form, hopefully my chains will help this year, but the extra weight always helps on the Polaris.

The daler said it was for a Sportsman 400/500. Will this fit my 2006 450 and where does it mount?...ex.front,middle,or rear at the hitch........I heard Polaris had one that mounted in the hitch ....but I heard they don't make them anymore...When was that and why the stop using that set-up.....caper....Thanks

How much did you get? In Flint area we didn't get any snow at all just rain. Aren't you getting snow today (Dec 6) though from that clipper system?

We have probably about 4-5 inches here. That clipper only left about 1" hear, it missed us to the north.

We currently have aobut 4-5 inches. It is quickly melting though. Today is the last saturday of deer season, so I will be able to start riding my quad again. This week is finals week, and then I have a bunch of time off before the second semester starts. Hopefully we will get some pretty good snow for those few weeks, and then it can all melt till I have to head back.
