Need advice

Hi everybody,
i want to buy a polaris atv for two reasons:
1st: fun
2nd: clearing off the snow of 500 metres farm track (30 cm height maximum)
The Hawkeye 4x4 is at the moment my favorite but it lacks low transmission and I?m not sure it will manage the task.
Should I switch to a Sportsman?

The Hawkeye is geared very low, low range is built into the clutching. You can creep around at a snails pace all day long no problem. The 07's have many changes over the 06, the limited edition has aluminum rims and larger radial tires than the others making it a good buy. Go ride one before you decide against it....

the hawkeye is a good quad, but i dont think its up to the task of clearing a third of a mile (1641 ft) a larger quad, such as the sportsman 500 EFI would be more appropriate to the task in my opinion

If price is an issue.........I was going to get a sportsamn 450 for me and a Hawkeye 300 for the wife.......but the price differance here in Canada was only about $900.00 cad so I bought two 450's...........caper.......

go w/ a sportsman w/ low range then there will be no doubt and plenty of power if needed not to mention extra weight which is better for plowing traction as well.

Akin, I wouldn't push snow without low range. You might be able to pick up a leftover Magnum 330 4x4 and get low range that would probably be sufficient. Even better would be the Sportman 450 or 500EFI. I made extended sides for my pickup box on my X2 and loaded about a half meter of firewood and filled a meter by meter and a half trailer with firewood and the 500 has no problem moving around. The 500s torque is pretty amazing. I've pulled way beyond the recommended and haven't had a complaint from the quad yet. If you can afford it, you won't be disappointed.
