04 700 late model. my son burned up the belt to shreds I put a new one on and it instanly engages into gear and shuts off. any thoughts?
oh I did make sure its the correct belt. thinking their might be a cord wrapped in the clutch but cant see any.

Sounds like you have a piece of belt between the sprag clutch and the sheaves. Time to take the primary apart.
