I got a 2000 sportsman 500. When i ride it in the snow it somehow see to be that water gets inside the gearbox. If water gets inside i cant not shift and it gets stuck in what gear it is in. If u know how to fix it or what is wrong please help.

 

hows your boot look where the shifter comes up thru it? is it cracked/ripped. maybe the clamp is loose or off lettting it in thru the top. this is the only seal i see on it.

well if you look at a break down of the shifter, thats pretty much the only thing that lets water in. are you sure theres any lube in the shifter. i wouldnt think just a little bit of snow would make it do that.

 

yeah i had to go to the polaris dealer to get agl oil

 

pack her full of marine grease,, worked wonders on my warn 2500#
