Default Seat Doesn't Fit 06 SP 700EFI

My seat doesn't fit well with the plastic in the front. There is about a 3/4" gap. I have trid to shim the seat forward and it just doesn't want to move far enough to meet the gas tank. Even if it did, it would leave a gap in the back. I was thinking about buying a new seat cover, and maybe adding filler under the cover in front to make the seat longer. Has anyone had this problem? Not a big deal, it just irritates me.

Thanks---Wooderson.

does the seat wiggle around? some gap is necessary - I would think anyway. Mine has a pretty good gap all away around the front but it doesnt wiggle around when in place. I dont like the gap either but the way I look at it these are atvs not luxury cars and things need room to move and flex. go to thedealer and look at another one and see if it looks the same. Mine did so I'm not sweatin it a bit

Mine doesn't fit right either, leans to one side. Haven't done anything yet, but is rubbing against the plastic. Not sure what to do about it if anything, all rubber feet are making contact.

woody, I think that gap in normal, mine has a simular space, otherwise seat is solid. have you inquired with a dealer?

Thanks for the responses. I checked some other machines at the dealer and some are better than others. Mine seems to have a larger gap than most. When you sit on it it opens up even more. You can see down into the compartment. Someone on another site suggeted I add spacers between the frame and the tank plastic, moving it back, rather than the seat forward. It sounds like a common thing. I like polaris for a lot of reasons, fit and finish isn't one of them.....can't have it all I guess.

Thanks again!

Wooderson-does the seat grab onto the tabs at the front? Some people have lost seats in transport, blowing off machine. Might pull up on front to make sure it is secure.
