Default 500 manual hill climb

Haven't had my manual for long, at first I didn't like it, but now I do. One thing I'm fighting with is climbing hills. It seems I have to pick the right gear before I climb, it doesn't like shifting under the load of hill climbing, nor can I afford to lose the momentum. It always seems like I'm over reving or under powered on the steep hills.
Am I still getting use to it, or am I missing a trick? Ive raced dirtbikes cross country for years, but I'm struggling with this.
Other than that, I really like this quad, great looks, good clearance, brilliant speed rack.

What you are missing is an AUTOMATIC that always keeps you in the power curve - lol... (Auto's made for dummies like me)

Practice and experience and you will master it time.

It took me some time to get used to my manual with just what you are describing, but you'll get better and then you'll like it that much better.

I've had my manual for about a year now and i know what you are saying about getting the shifting down, but when you do, IMO you will love the way you can make the manual put the power to the ground for hill climbing and rock crawling.
