87 Moto-4 350 Carb same as 89 Warrior Carb?
#1
Does anyone know if the 87 Moto-4 350 has the same carb as the 87 through 03 Warriors? If they are not the same, will the Moto-4 carb work on the warrior without any mods?

I dont know, but in my experiences with swapping out parts, I doubt the carbs would be exactly the same. And even if it does fit, that doesnt mean it is tuned right for another engine. If you can, I would wait and find a Warrior carb. Because Yamaha seems to find a way to make parts REAL close to each other, but just different enough to be a big headache.

I did some poking around on the Yamaha parts site. The parts all look pretty close. The Moto4 is a 2 wheel drive version of the Big Bear 350. The part number between carbs change because the jetting is not the same in all of them. 87 Moto4 has a 120 main 45 pilot, 87 Big Bear 350 4X4 is 122.5 main 45 pilot. The 87 Warrior 350 has a 145 main and 42.5 pilot. All years shared the same O-ring between the carb and intake (so they should be the same size). The intake rubber on the Warrior is shorter, the Motor4 and Big Bear 4x4 share the same longer intake rubber. If you are looking to get an old Warrior going, you could use the carb but it would need to be jetted to the Warrior carb specs. Another thing to look out for is if the carb is dual cable or single cable. Some of the older carbs (I think only in the 80s)use 2 throttle cables, newer ones have a single cable to the carb.

Thanks a lot for your help. my warrior is an 89 and it has two throttle cables and I'm pretty sure the Moto-4 does to. Those Moto-4 carbs are a lot cheaper than the warrior carbs. again thanks a ton for your help
