Default Kazuma Cougar 250CC - Choke Problem. Help!

It seemed to be getting worse over a few days and then puke!

Ok, we were at the atv today with the new and old choke. hooked them both up, turned the key and tried to turn it over and the choke needle never moved. I know the temp gauge does not move. Is it possible if the gauge or the tem sensor does not work, then the choke needle wont move?

What is the current supposed to be going to the choke? Is it AC or DC and how many volts. Do you know? One time we tested the wire to the choke it was 2V and the next 7V. We are stumped.

    Jim,

Give me a call when you have time. (262) 909-5114.

I pakced up the carb, choke(s) temp gauge, temp sensor, cdi box, and regulator and sent it to Kazuma down south:

    Please send the parts to:
    Kazuma Pacific Inc.
    13715 Murphy Road, Suite D, Stafford , TX 77477
    Attn: Jason Tsai
Return no.: ( derek stolpa-070609 ) (the return no. must be written on the box, this is very important for us to carry on the work after we receiving your parts).

They told me that the choke(s) works fine for them. I told them that when I hook them up and turn the key the choke needle never moves. They still cannot tell my what powers the choke... They are telling me to get a new carb and all will work fine????? One of the emails from them said the hole the choke needle is too big. Sounds like a MFG defect to me and they should replace. What does the carb have to do with the choke needs not working for us. It looks like the needle never pulls up for us when we turn the key.

My dad is ready to take it out back and shoot it! LOL!

Also, they told me to send them the temp gauge and sensor and they would test and replace. Now they said they never told me this.

I tried to contact the place that sold it to my bro in law and they have yet to return my mesages. I dont want to point fingers here but can tell you offline what company it was. They said they just sell and dont service. UGH!

    Derek

Can anyone with an electric choke on a Kazuma tell me what the voltage is suppoosed to be that goes to the choke?

We are only getting about 1 to 2 volts on the plug that the harness the choke plugs into. Im wondering if there is a bad ground or if the regulator is bad (but it turns over good and the lights work ok? hmm) Isnt it supposed to be a 12v system?

Maybe the choke does not need sthat much, but they say on the doirections to test with a 12v source.
