Just bought my first Honda ATV!

I just joined and when asked for a user name, "4-man luver" came easy because I really do love this thing! It's an '02 Foreman 450 ES and I bought it a couple days ago. It has ITP 589 mud/snow tires, 2500# winch, brush guard, skid plate, HD springs, utility box, front disc brakes and other goodies. It has about 3200 miles, 500 hours and I paid $3500. I feel very fortunate to have a rig like this. It's got a "Rugged" look about it and sometimes I catch myself just standing there admiring it. Although it's still new to me I already know I'll never own anything but a Honda again. I had a Polaris a few years ago and eventually sold it. It never could get comfortable with it on the trails. Now I wouldn't trade my used Honda for a brand new Polaris. I like the feeling of confidence it gives me and the Electric Shift is great. I live in Alsaka where the trails are anything but tame. So this is deffinately the right machine for this country.

Yes it does have selectable 2 and 4-wheel drive. The advice about riding on steep side hills sounds like the voice of experience. I'll remember that and thanks for the tip (no pun intended). The tires on mine make it look like it could tip over fairly easy. I read a post where he used spacers to widen the stance. That sounds like a good idea if it doesn't damage wheel bearings. And I guess you'd have to have longer studs.

Thanks! that's good to hear. My feet are finally coming back to Earth now that I've had it a few days. I've got a steep bank between my driveway and the road I use for practice. I'm still getting to know it and like everything about it so far.
While I'm on here, does anyone know what the Red button that slides left and right located just below the up and down electric shift buttons is? It's to the left of the start button. I didn't get an owner's manual with it.
Thanks,
Dan

Yep it works. It rained here today and I went for a ride tonight in the mud. It was pretty bad in some places and there were trails going around the worse spots. Wanting to learn what I have I went straight through the deep stuff and it did great. Almost seems to like the mud. What a joy this machine is!
