Default Trouble with 300 Rear End

I believe I blew out my rear bearing. When riding it "clunks". I lifted up the back end and there seems to be about 1/4'" of slop on the right side.

How do I take apart the rear axle?

Sounds like the brake panel bearing , they need replacement quite often .. It's possible the rear end bearings are bad also , you'll know when you get the axle out ..

We've fixed several that broke .. drilled the center right thru and put a bolt & nut to hold it ..

It is best to just consider bearings to be disposable items that need to be replaced now and then. If the axle is wobbling, don't ride it like that because you can damage the carrier and then you are in for big $$$.

There are some tricks like putting the bearings in the freezer so they shrink before installation. Not sure if the manual goes into stuff like that?

Reconranger, where were you 2 weeks ago? Finally go it apart and the bearing had completely disentegrated. As soon as we started to pull the axle out the ball bearings poured out. The carrier is damanged. If only the bearing had been bad it would have been $75 in parts. Looks like even using discount part suppliers it will be closer to $350.

The only good news is the carrier as a service part comes with the bearings already installed.
