I have an 04.5 Sportsman 700. The wrench has been flashing on the speedo for a while now. I think the hours on the machine are about 65. It only flashes when first started and shortly after taking off it goes out. Any ideas?

 

Is it the service indicater?? Usually the factory setting for the light is 50 hours and then you're supposed to service the bike and reset the light. Hopefully you just serviced your bike and forgot to reset your light.

You have to get into Diag mode. And if I remember right, with the bike in nuetral and the key off, hold the brake on and the override button, then turn the key on. It wil say V2.5 or whatever your version is. Press the override button to cycle thru the options and when you get to the wrench, hold the override button to set the hours. Double check your owners manual, but I think that's the correct procedure

if you have your book, just look in there under service or instrument and it should tell you. most people reset them to 50 hrs and it counts backwards to zero and triggers the wrench to flash.
