Default 2002 honda rancher 350 fe front brake troubles

I resently bought a 2002 rancher 350 fe es and the front brakes basically do not work when fully depressed, but if i move the lever rapidly and hold it down it will hold pressure and the brakes hold. Ive cleaned and bled the system till i was blue, theres no loss of fluid anywhere so im not sure if i need just to rebuild the master cyclinder or what. Any help would be great. I have yet to pull the front drums but not sure if i need to until i can get pressure first.

lol if you didn't adjust the brakes or look at the front brakes your wasting your time, they are dual cylinder drum brakes which require manual adjustment. if the front brakes have mud and water in them, (which i figure they do), it will pointless to do anything until the brakes are clean and the seals replaced.

BELIEVE ME, i've delt with it to the point where i a bought a disc conversion kit. simply can't take pulling the front end apart every 2 months.

Bill is correct, it is a matter of adjustment. They do tend to get pretty nasty inside if they have been mudded a lot. You can pull the little red plug out of the front wheels and have a look inside and get an idea if it is full of mud and stuff. If your lucky and its not, adjust your brakes and be on your way.
