i just got an 03 trx 250ex and i want to see it above 55mph and hopefully 60mph
does anybody have any suggestions on cheap but good upgrades

Does your 250ex hit the rev limiter when you're in 5th gear? If so, then you'll have to get bigger rear tires... or a different rev box (so the limiter is set higher).

Take the AirBox Lid off, it'll help but dirt will get in much more easily and you'll have to clean the filter.

yeah, it won't go above ~55mph stock because it just hits the rev-limiter.. You'd have to get bigger rear tires, get a different rev box (to set the rev limiter higher), or somehow change the gear ratios (next to impossible)

 

Unless.... it's so easy. Just take the transmission apart and change the gears!!! SOOO EASY!

i found a rev limiter with 1,000 more rev for about $120

 

Keep in mind that the stock rev limiter exists to protect the engine from wearing out too fast or burning out. You do not get more power at higher revs as most of the extra fuel that gets burnt doesn't create power but creates heat.

Also keep in mind that you havea 250ex and an extra 1000 RPM will get you a few more MPH. You might not hit the rev limiter though. If you can find the 250ex gear ratios I could find you the top speed with an extra 1000 RPM
