I'm working on a 2003 sportsman 700. One start up there is a symbol that looks like a little wrench that flashes for several seconds in the instrument display. Is this normal ?

 

If it is an EFI model and it only flashes for a few seconds upon start up and then goes off, then yes this is normal. its like the check engine light in your car.

 

Thanks for the reply ..This is a carbed machine and I found out that it's a service interval reminder. Apparently it set to flash at around 50 hrs or so. I found instructions on how to reset it. Again, thanks for the reply !!
