i did not know that this bike had a problem with plastic melting but as far as the updated heat sheild i sure it does not and the bike has around 849 miles and a little over a hundred miles the bike is four hours away from where i live and after talking to the guy about the mechanical condition he said the only thing that he had to do was tighten the exaust bolts and bleed the back brakes . he is selling it for his cousin which bought it from a older man they still have not did anything with the title but he did tell me the plastic was in good shape . the reason he said his cousin is selling it is that he has a airboat that his cousin want's so he's going to sell the bike for the trade. icannot get the one picture that i have on here but if you would like i could send a email.

you could tell by looking at the plastics if it was starting to melt because of heat. these twins throw alot of heat of and you want to make sure the radaitor stays clean and shouldnt have any heat issues. a few had bad fuel pumps but wasnt limited to just 05' 800's. your buying a used bike and no matter what brand or make it is, its always a gamble. the camo version adds another $300. when buying one so its not a bad deal.
