Default 4wheel drive

On my 2001 scambler 500 when riding it in 4wheel drive i turn the 4wheel drive off and the right wheel comes out of 4wheel drive right away and it sometimes takes the left wheel a little time to come out of 4wheel drive. I notice this on snow and ice. Could that be the reason? I changed the hub seals i thought maybe i tighted the hubs to tight but i just snug them tight. Any ideas? thanks
