I dont have my manuel or quad with me, its in the trailer about 30 miles away. I think I am having a blonde moment, but when my 800 x2 is in 4x4.when shifted into reverse, the 4x4 light goes off and then is in 2 wheel drive...am I missing something...Over ride button?? Shouldn't it stay locked into 4x4?

 

to have 4/4 in revers you have to hit your revers override button on your left side handle bar lower yellow button for safty reasons because you can do a reverse wheely if you are not careful

Over ride button yes...When you shift into reverse you must depress the button to regain 4X4..There is also a built in rev limiter which also get over ridden when the button is depressed.....It's a built in safety feature because it's very easy to lose control in reverse if you give it too much gas..They sell kits to over ride the over ride button....

Yes, I have an actual reverse override switch on my 500, but use a zip tie on my 800.
