I am new to the site... It looks like there are a ton of people here that know a great deal of information. Thank you in advance for any help and hopefully over time, I will be able to provide a little help to someone else.

I am looking to upgrade my 1997 Sportsman 500. Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what I should and should not do to it? I am most interested in an Air Box Kit, K&N filter and possibly a jet kit. I haven't been able to find a jet kit for my machine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard of people who made there own H.O long before they came out in 2001. All they did was put in the 500 Scamblers high duration cam and its 40mm carb. The cam by its self might wake the bike up also.

 

i agree w/ TLC --- the cam from the scrambler will bring that bike to life.
