I usually put a 1\4" ratchet extension down in the spark plug hole then turn the engine's flywheel by hand until the extension is pushed out the farthest.that should be tdc

Take the plug out of the top of the stator cover, and take the cover off of the left side of the engine (4 allen head screws). Turn the crankshaft with a 17mm wrench until you see a "T" through the first plug you took out. There should be an "F" and a "T" stamped in. Also your rocker arms should be loose on your valves when at TDC, and the mark on your cam gear should be lined up with the little knot on the head. http://www.sandwizards.com/Service_Manuals/warrior.pdf

bad idea. good way to score your piston wall though, use same technigue with a tooth brush handle chilzzled down.

Or ou could do it the old fashion way and look for the Big T on the flywheel through the plug right on top on the left side of the motor, then maybe check it with the toothbrush. just in case.

And check it agian once you put the chian tensioner on, or you will be thrown off a tooth or two if your rebuilding it

Plastic bic pen works well, but as mentioned, the flywheel *SHOULD* line up. I always double check with a ball point pen.
