Default warrior 350 rotor "TDC" problem

well got the new motor put in and noticed that my TDC marking did not match up with my camshaft sprocket marking, i took off the stator and head, and noticed that my rotor is 180% out how is this? if i set the T mark to the stator housing mark my piston is at the bottom end not the top end, what is the problem here and how do i solve it lol any help would be great. is the rotor not keyed? i just cant understand how it was installed like this, and would like to fix this problem right before i start the engine.

i think the key is sheered off or the person who rebuilt it before i bought it didn't put one in, on the hunt right now for a flywheel puller.

It is possible for the piston to be at the bottom and still be able to read the "T". You need to get the piston at the top, set the mark at "T", then put your cam gear on and line up the mark. If you tried to start it like that you will be lucky if you didn't bend any valves.

I had a Suzuki 500 King Quad do this last year, the key had sheared and the flywheel spun through half a turn before the nut tightened it back up again. With the taper ground in with grinding paste (like a valve) and a new key, all was well again.

Got a key timed it to the best i could quad fired right up and run for a sec died idles with choke on dont start without choke runs on idle with choke but dont take gas but carb wasnt hooked to the airbox but shouldnt it have run without it also was like it may have been backfiring out the carb the timing marks are as close as i can get em gonna hook airbox up tomorrow and check the carb boot to see if there is any imperfections other than that im thinking maybe intake valve adjustment.
