Default Outlander max 800 4x4 slipping

It only happens when starting out. It kinda slips with a clank, nothing real bad but I can tell somehting is going on and could get worse, maybe break and leave me stranded. It seems kinda like a gear or something slipping then catching. Any checks I can do? Anyone ever had this problem?

I have the same model and it does something similar. It was explained to me you have to build RPM before the Visco system engages which gives you the impession of slippage. If it is more than that, I would go to the dealer.

The best investment you can make for your quad is a good Srevice and Repair Shop manual , it will pay for itself on the first complete serving alone ; i would suggest you check the belt tension with a good manual you'll know what the proper tension of the belt should be !

You can also do a search on checking the belt tension for your quad , someone may already have a link to show you how to check the belt tension ; i know there's one on the Arctic Cat and Kawasaki belt drive system's so i would do a search first then i would get a shop manual for future service and repair !.......

It seems to be normal. I took the cover off the belt system and ran it in the drive way. The jerking and slipping happens if you try to take off very slowly cause the belt cannot engauge all the way without a little RPMs. If I just gun it there is no slippage at all. I've only owned the Outlander about a month now so thats just something I wasnt used to on the other ATVs I've owned. Thanks fellas
