alright the thing is a week old and the other day it died while my nephew was riding. now they were in some ankle deep water when it died now we get nothing but a backfire every now and then has spark has fuel in the motor what next if your suggestion is to look at valves is there maybe a link somewhere that explains valve clearence? thanks guys

first thing-chinese atv's do not like the water unless you water proof them, look at the back of any connectors you'll see that the wire harness connectors are not water tight, i don't think this atv needs a valve adjustment at this time, (to new) what i think off hand since you were riding it in water you eaither got some water on the airfilter and now it's plugged not letting air in, or you have a loose wire or you might got some water in the handle bar switch, first clean the airfilter, when applying filter oil use very little and rub it all over the filter, second thing i would do is take the handle bar switch off and spay some wd40 in it then apply lots of dielectrical grease in it and then take all connectors apart and spay wd40 or better yet put some dielectrical grease in each and every connector, if that hasn't help then you need to start looking for a loose wire, once you found the problem then if you wish o continue riding in water buy some liquid electrical tape, walmart or any boating parts palce will have this and cover all connectors with this to water proof them.

all the conections are dry i guess i should say that it was last tuesday that it happend and it was bought on saturday.could i be overlooking something with the wires though
if it is getting spark fuel and air i dont know what else it could be accept timing????
