Can someone tell me the model number of the uni filter that most people use on the carb vent. Also has anyone used an inline gas filter if so what type and how does it work. Any opinions on a new petcock valve?

Hello, I'll check my uni filter tonight. I have an inline filter, all you do is cut about 1 inch of the tubing and plug it in. You can get them from any motorcycle supply center for about 3.00-6.00 dollars. There is an arrow on the filter so you know which way the fuel flows. Why do you want to change out the petcock??

Hi Hymis,

I would like to be able to turn off the fuel flow completely. Have you know anyone to change them out? Someone suggested a banshee petcock.

Yes a Banshee Petcock will bolt right up. I beleive a BLaster petcock will also work as well... As these petcocks only have one (hose) outlet, you'll need to plug off the vent on the stock carb where the second hose typically goes from the stock petcock.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am now looking for an inline filter from a mower dealer. I am going to try this first to see how it works before I change the petcock valve.
