Hey yall im 17 and im looking at buying a 400cc sport quad im not new to quads in any way ive been riding my uncles 300ex for a while but i want to buy my on and something bigger than a 300


ive looked at honda suzuki and kawisaki the trx400ex the z400 and the kfx400

im looking for power torque handling and top end and relaibilty

i know the kfx is no longer in production but ihave heard some good things about them and green happens to be my favorite color but id like to see what some of you guy that have been around thse machines have to say before i make my choice

 

the suzuki and the kawasaki are the same thing I'd go with the honda good power,reliability and a nice top end speed

 

Honda has always been my choice for all atv's and dirtbike's. I actually just bought a honda rincon and i am selling my 05 400ex. It is a great bike and i am going to miss it. Its fast, handles great and most important honda reliability.

 

I'll toss in a vote for the Z. Both the TRX400 and Z400 are great sport bikes. Strong and reliable, you can't go wrong with either one. Generally, the Z is considered a slightly better bike than the Honda - a little more power, a little more suspension, basically just a little better all around. The Z and the KFX are exactly the same bike - with the exception of plastic color and slight differences in plastic shape. The KFX was made by Suzuki for Kawi during their "partnership" a few years ago.

Well it is an even money call for the most part...... but with the z400 you get more engine (with more potential) and better suspension.....and on open trails where it can rev it is a pure fun machine....

But if you are just going to cruise in the tight woods, and slower more technical trails the 400ex is probably the best choice out there.....

 

My choice would be a 09 Z with EFI!

 

+1 on the z400efi fuel injection!!!!!! ill never go back

 

Ya thanks guys i think im gonna buy a z400 not an 09 though dont really got the money i can pick up a 08 speacial editon with 50 hours on it for 4500 is that a good deal? it has a full white bros exauhst system and k&n air filter
