Winch - Cable vs. Synthetic Rope
#1
I posted this in the Utility section, but nobody replies over there, so...........
I have a 2500 Warn Winch on my quad (Grizzly 660). It has the steel cable. I dont know if I just have bad luck, but I have snapped the cable like 3 times already, between plowing and trying to pull myself out of mud.
I am thinking of switching to an Amsteel Synthetic Rope. Anyone have any thoughts on cable vs. synthetic rope?

I switched to it about a year ago,not because of any problem just because I see something and I just gotta have it.I like it especially when reeling back in.It is easier to handle and easier to keep it from binding up on the spool. Now as far as breaking your cable 3 times, maybe you had some bad spots in it

They only negitive I see with the synthetic is the length of the sythetic is so much shorter than steel, but with that said allot of guy are switching to it on jeeps so it must work pretty good. It deff weighs less and is more use'r friendly!
