Default Polaris 700 Sportsman Charging problem

I have a 2005 700 Sportsman, I acquired a service manual to assist with the maintenance and repair issues. I have found that I have a charging issue. The manual is a bit vague and covers several polaris models. First it indicates to check the fuses or circuit breakers of which I have not been able to locate can anyone help? Then the manual indicates to use a process of elimination starting with a check of the alternator using a multitester by unplugging the alternator connection and test for AC current coming from the alternator, then if that checks out to replace the regulator. My questions are is the alternator connection and the regulator behind the cover the alternator is covered by? What is the easiest way to test?

Thanks in advance for any assistance

the alternator is behind the flywheel. the rectifier is usually mounted up under the fender plastics. try looking under the hood piece for the cdi/rectifier

Dont over look 4011044 chinese ecm module! Charging and fan operation! IS IT EFI or carb version? If efi then possible reg/rectifier at front of machine. Carb version has ecm module. Good luck
