The engine and transmission use the same oil. Most places 10-30 or 10-40 would be good, SG or higher, and JASO MA.

Because it is a dry sump, to get an accurate oil reading the machine needs to idle for 5 minutes (10 if it's cold), then sit for a couple of minutes. You probably already know, but don't screw in the dipstick when you check, and you want the oil level at or even a shade above the top mark.

You might also want to make sure the radiator and the oil cooler are clean and free of debris. Sometimes it is helpful to remove the side shroud, so you can get in there to back flush with a hose.

Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Low oil will cause transmission slipping, so I'd bet that's it.

Also, if the weather is cold, the thing will need to warm up for a bit before it will shift properly.

The Rincon trans runs hot, and it can toast petroleum oil. I recommend a high quality ester based synthetic oil, like Maxima Estra.
