04 trail boss how do tighten chain

Default 04 trail boss how do tighten chain

I just bought a 04 Polaris Trailboss 330and I need to tighten the chain it has like 2 inches of play in it way to loose .this is my first chain ATV all others have been shaft drive any help would be greatly appreaciated thank you very much............

guessing if its like our old trail blazer, it should have 2 bolts that hols the axle to the swing arm. you ned to loosen these and maybe even the brake caliper if i remember right and there should be a hole thru the sproket that would line up w/ a hole in the inner hub that you could slide a rod or srew driver into to hold in place then rock the bike backwards to tighten the chain. this is just a guess from how i used to tighten the 00 trail blazer we had. maybe someone who has one can tell you better but check it out as its fairly easy.. another though is if you have the manual you could see in how to do it and if you dont go to the polaris web page and down load an owners manual for free as its good info to have anyways. imo.

Give this a check before you do any adjusting!

Have someone get on the bike then look at the chain. Mine looks real loose without any weight on the machine. As you compress the suspension the slack comes out of the chain.
