New to forum and just purchased a 2007 rancher 350. Started fine and ran fine at dealership. After 6 hours sitting attempted start to back out of truck and it started with slight choke. Attempted to put in reverse and stalled, no i didn't let warm up, my fault i'm sure. Mutliple attempts to restart all futile. Put bike away for night without getting it started. Is there something i did wrong? Thanks for responses.

I'd also look at obvious things, like did the dealer shut off the fuel petcock? If you flooded it, the spark plug could be wet or fouled, so you might take a look at it.

Just got back from my warehouse. Turns out that the dealer changed the oil for me before delivery today, of course, they turned off the fuel valve, too bad I didn't check that first, but, on the good side I've learned a ton about the Honda in the last few hours. All replies much appreciated, a great forum.

 

Glad it was something simple. I kind of figured if the dealer loaded it for you, they would likely shut the fuel off...

 

You do want to shut off the fuel valve when transporting the quad or when it sits unused, so you want to get use to checking it all the time.

When the quad gets shaken around while being transported, the float bounces up and down and will overfill the bowl. If everything is good, the excess will go out the overflow....and why waste that gas???? If the overflow is not working properly, the excess can end up in the combustion chamber, flow past the rings, and end up diluting your oil out so it is useless.
