CRF450 timing chain on a 400ex

Default CRF450 timing chain on a 400ex

ok so my timing chain is loose. thats the problem in my 2002 400ex, ive heard the crf450 timing chain will fit, i found a 2002 crf450 timing chain for 10$. do i take it? and will it work with no mods? anything else i have to replace other than the chain itself?

help asap.

I would recommend getting a timing chain specific for a 400EX.
Why cheap out on something as important as a timing chain?
You can get a brand new timing chain on ebay for $40.00!

welll i want a heavy duty and dont want to shell out the rest of my money on a 100$ heavy duty chain.

u prob could check to c if its the same part number @ dennis kirk , or on the parts fitch on ronnies mail order

well im asking casue i see a lot of articles on here on it, and on other sites, people say it works great, i was trying to confirm it.

Yes, it will work. First hand experience here.

Not only will it work, but it's a better chain than ANY aftermarket timing chain you can find on ebay made in China I assure you. The OEM chains cost dealers over 50 bucks cost so anything less is definitely NOT an OEM chain. Most OEM 400EX chains start around 80 bucks a pop.

Even buying OEM,..the 400EX chain is 4 times as expensive as a brand new chain for the CRF450....and both are made in Japan. Go figure.

so whats the best price you can find on a crf450 chain? where and how much?

ive found 35$ so far at bikebandit...but they arent really known for low prices lol
