hi yall, i have a 2002 polaris sportsman 500 4x4. i have another post about electrical problems,there was a rats nest under hood and messed with wires. long story short i bought it with no spark. i have replaced stator & pulser (im not sure of the air gap between pulser and fly wheel does anyone) that could be the problem,but it still wont start, i have checked everything including inline fuses,power switch on left handle bar. so im thinking cdi. i have a question the rats had disconnected some wires from cdi white/blue stripe & black, know this may sound dumb but here it goes, which wire goes to coil black or white and where those the other go when one goes to coil, the were both unhooked when i got the quad. the black one has voltage when engine is cranking the white one has nothing? i noticed there is nothing working on light pod it has voltage but no lights come on it at all. some one please help me figure this mess up im really wanting to ride it so bad, i bought it for only $800 super cheap, but know i cant get it going,so sad.

 

white/blue wire to coil,black wire should have a connector that it plugs into,this goes to kill circuit on ignition. A manual or if someone can post you an electrical schematic can solve a lot of problems!

 

now that you say that i did find a plug above spark coil it has 3 black wires and a plug to plug something else in,rats had chewed of the end of black wire with connector so i had no idea were it went, thank you. old polarish tech. i have one more ? if i test wite/blue stripe wire to ground while engine is cracking, shouldn't i get some thing, some kind of reading on my tester? instead i get voltage out of the black one when tested same way as white. cdi bad? maybe?
