I'm looking at a used sportsman 400 at a local dealer. I mainly will use it for plowing and ice fishing. Right now it has about 275 miles on it. What should I look for on this unit? Anything particular tend to fail on these units? I'm unfamiliar with Polaris, as I have never owned one and don't know anyone who has. My buddies all have suzukis or yamahas. Any info would be great.

onesavage has an 04.5 400 and Mongrol has a 400 too I believe, not sure of the year...Maybe they'll chime in and give their input..

The one Mongrol has is a totally different horse. It is the smaller Hawkeye frame with the 450 motor. The older 400 is a smaller motor than his, and has the bigger 500 frame and body. I do believe but I may be totally wrong. Never owned either one.
